English 9

Research Paper

A good research paper has the following attributes:

1. It is well researched with current information.

2. It is well organized

3. It is thorough and complete

4. It carries YOUR OWN VOICE

5. It is easy to follow, has a clear thesis (main point), and a good conclusion

6. It demonstrates your intelligence about your topic.

Here are the steps to follow for this paper:

1. Begin with questions on the topic. Try to have between 15 and 20.

2. Using the search guides I present to you, look for direct answers to those questions.

3. Arrange the answers you got into a CLEAR WELL ORGANIZED LIST – that becomes your OUTLINE.

4. Using the outline write a rough draft of your paper, being sure to inject YOUR OWN VOICE into the paper.

5. Take the corrections and suggestions made on your draft and make a final report for a grade.
