Mission Statement

The purpose of the NAC Business Club is to:

1. deepen each student's understanding of fundamental business concepts and the central role of business in society, and to improve his or her ability to function in an economic environment;

2. to offer students in the business club the understanding of key principles of business management, so that they might contend intelligently with the numerous problems of business, and

3. to develop in all students, through on-hands experience, basic skills of information gathering, problem solving, decision-making, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Eligibility:

The Business Club is open to all students in grades 9-12. There is no grade point average requirement for club members. Elected officers and faculty advisors would have the right to deny entry to those that they feel would be too immature or not serious enough a majority vote.

By-Laws:

1. Members must attend regular meetings. A minimum of 75% of the meetings is required to maintain membership.

2. Members must work together in a cooperative manner. The officers and faculty advisors would have the right to discipline the members. All warnings will be officially recorded, along with the reason for the warning. After three warnings the member would face being banned from the club. The decision would be put to a majority vote by the officers and faculty advisors.

Actions that may warrant a warning (but are not limited to) the following:

1. Obvious and continued lack of participation.

2. Disrupting another member's right to participate.

3. Verbal or physical abuse to others.

4. Deliberate destruction of other's property.

3. Members would elect the officers. The offices would be open to 11th and 12th graders. (If no 11th or 12th grade members are available than a 9th or 10th grade student may run for office) The offices are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

4. Any additions to the by-laws will be put to an open vote to all club members, then officially recorded.
