I am a native of Syracuse, NY. I have lived in the North Country for over 35 years. I am a graduate of SUNY Oswego with a B.A. in Spanish and a minor in Secondary Education and in French. My graduate courses were done through SUNY Oswego and Potsdam. I have taught Spanish, French and English as a Second Language.
My overseas studies have included Universidad de Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico,Instituto de Cultura Hispanica, Madrid, Spain, and Instituto Conversa in Santa Ana, Costa Rica.
In school year 2003-2004 our family hosted an exchange student from Colombia. Twice I have visited the family in Colombia and travelled throughout much of Colombia with them, including visiting the Museo de Oro in Bogota, Museo de Cafe en Armenia and climbing part-way (have to return!) up Galeras Volcano near Pasto.
I have travelled extensively in France, Spain, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and lived briefly in Miami, Florida. I participated in the Mission of Hope to Chiquilistagua, Nicaragua in the summer of 2003. Our high school Spanish club sponsors a student at the school there. Several NAC students have also travelled with other Mission of Hope groups.
