Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Dupree

I grew up in Champlain, NY and attended Northeastern Clinton Central School. I attended college at Plattsburgh State. I received my B.A. in Art History in 2004 and my M.S.T in Childhood Education/Art Education in 2007. Outside the classroom I am a visual artist, working mostly in color pencil and paint.

All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. ~Pablo Picasso

As the Middle School Art teacher, I am here to help you discover the joy of creating and learning about art.

NAC requires Middle School Students to take art in 6th grade and 7th grade. Art is an important part of Education because it touches many of the other subjects you study in school; including Math, Science, Social Studies, Music and even sports.

6th grade art is a beginners course where students learn about the basics. You can learn more about the course by clicking here.

7th grade art is a course designed to build on the knowledge students learned in 6th grade. It is also the year students start learning about Art History in detail. Click here to see all the wonderful artists we learn about in 7th grade. You can learn more about the course by clicking here.
