Meet our principal, Ms. Lisa Silver

NACS is a "Great Place to Be" because of the students, teachers, staff and community.  As students and contributors to NACS, we will continue to make great things happen.   Here are some tips for a successful school year.

Suggested Steps to Student Success:

  • Believe in yourself!
  • Seek the help of any staff member if you find yourself having problems; we can't help if we don't know.
  • Be prepared with all necessary materials.
  • Look for someone you can help in school. We are part of a team that is working for success.
  • Get involved. At NACS, we have many recognition and reward programs and these help make school a great experience!

Student Rights

  • Every person has the right to be treated as an exceptional human being. By being a student at NACS, you can expect these things:
  • The right to an education (teachers should be free to teach and students free to learn without being interrupted by inconsiderate or disruptive students).
  • The right to be safe in school and to have personal and school property respected.
  • Freedom from physical abuse and/or mental abuse such as name-calling, intimidation, harassment or vulgar language. Swearing and use of inappropriate language are not acceptable. Discipline will be in compliance with school and district policy.
  • The right to be respected and the right to privacy and freedom.
  • The right to develop one's own personality (as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others).

High Expectations - High Student Achievement

  • During this time of your life, EDUCATION is your career. Coming to school is your job and your basic job expectations are as follows:
  • Bring proper SCHOOL SUPPLIES to class daily.
  • Grades 3-5 use your AGENDA daily.
  • Be prepared and complete all HOMEWORK assignments.
  • Be responsible for LEARNING at school. Learning is your first responsibility. It is great to have friends, but you should not socialize during class time. Socializing interferes with both learning and the general atmosphere of the classroom.
  • Put forth your best EFFORT at all times.

We have much to celebrate at NACS Elementary so let's get started!

Ask your child how they can win this shiny new bike.

The students at Northern Adirondack Elementary will have the opportunity to win this shiny new bike at the end of the school year. As part of our “Motivation Through Recognition” Program, students caught being a good citizen will earn a GOLD SLIP.  A good citizen portrays the desirable character traits of respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, trustworthiness, honesty and citizenship.

GOLD SLIPS can be earned for good citizenship in the halls, classroom, cafeteria, and on the school bus.  Each time students receive a gold slip, they will be entered into an end of the year drawing for this shiny new bike.  The more GOLD SLIPS earned, the more chances to win!
