November Deadlines

New York Elks Applications (NYSEA)


  • Submitted ONLY by seniors who are the sons or daughters of Elks who are in good standings or were in good standings at the time of their deaths.

  • This application is identical to the Most Valuable Student Scholarship EXCEPT for the front page. This page can be obtained in the guidance office from Ms.LeClair. The student will simply submit their MVS scholarship application with the above mentioned cover page.

  • The application must be submitted to Keeseville Elks Lodge by 5PM NOVEMBER 15, 2022.

ENF Most Valuable Student Award


  • high school senior

  • The Elks Foundation will award 500 four- year scholarships to the ighest rated applicants in the 2023 competition.

  • Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, most valuable student scholarships are for students pursuing a four year degree, on a full-time basis in a US college or university.

Dell Scholars Scholarship Program

$20,000 Scholarship Flexible funds that scholars can use for the many costs that arise during their college career


  • Participate in a program-approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12

  • Be on track to graduate from an accredited high school in the current academic year

  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance

  • Be eligible to receive a federal Pell Grant in first year of college

  • Plan to enroll full time at an accredited higher education institution in the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in the fall directly following high school graduation

  • Earn a minimum of a 2.4 GPA

Burger King Scholarship Program:

Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $50,000 and are intended to help students in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. 

Eligability: You are invited to apply for the Burger King Scholars program if you are a high school senior in one of those locations, you have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent); you demonstrate community involvement through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations; and you plan to enroll full-time in 2023-24 at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico or Guam.

Equitable Excellence Scholarship


  • MUST BE United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.

  • MUST BE current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States** by Fall 2023.

  • MUST BE able to demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in school, community or work activities

  • MUST BE willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information about their achievements along with photographs for use in program promotion and information.


The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $750,000. Up to 100 renewable awards of $5,000 each and up to 100 one-time awards of $2,500 each will be granted as follows:

  • Top 100 applicants – $5,000 awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued enrollment, and

  • Next 100 applicants – $2,500 one-time awards are not renewable.

  • $500 grant will be awarded to each recipient’s high school to be used for professional development activities.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

January Deadlines

Dannemora Federal Credit Union Scholarship

  • DFCU is happy to announce ten (10) Scholarships are available paid out in full for a new grand total of $15,000.00 in scholarships.

  • Scholarships will be awarded as follows:

  •  1 to 5 will receive a $2000.00 Scholarship Award.

  • 6 to 10 will receive a $1000.00 Scholarship Award.

Eligability: You must be a member of Dannemora Federal Credit Union to apply to the NYCUA college scholarship program. If you are not currently a member, please visit DFCU Accounts page to open one today.You and your parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the back page of the application form. You must obtain a credit union verification code from your credit union in order to verify eligibility.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides four-year scholarships of $30,000 and extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, to highly motivated African American students who have maintained a 98% college graduation rate. 

- Be a graduating, minority high school senior
- Be a United States citizen
- Present evidence of financial need
- Demonstrate a record of academic excellence
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service
- Submit an official SAT and/or ACT test exam score from junior or senior year*
- Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university
- Have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college.

Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester to attend college, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, $1,000 to purchase college essentials, $1,000 to open a Personal Brokerage Account, a $15,000 HSF Brokerage Account to manage, and up to $8,000 to study and travel abroad...

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must attend a traditional public high school located in the U.S. that is governed by a school district.
3. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
4. Must enroll at an Eligible Four-Year College or University the first semester following high school graduation.
5. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college.
6. Must work 240 hours each year, from January 1 until commencement of the fall semester in college. Must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation.
7. Applicant’s Gross Household Income reported for 2021 Federal Income Tax Purposes must have been less than $85,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total gross income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
8. Must provide the first five (5) pages of the FAFSA SAR, the EFC must be shown on the first page.
9. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
10. Must not have a felony conviction.

GE-Reagan Foundation- Scholarships

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship offers $40,000 college scholarships for high school seniors nationwide
who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. 

  • Earn a $10,000 renewable scholarship - up to $40,000 total - for tuition, school fees, books, supplies, and on-campus room and board

Candidates must:

  • Demonstrate the attributes of leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship within their communities, schools, and workplaces

  • Display strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent)

  • Be citizens of the United States of America

  • Be current high school seniors attending high school within the United States, (including any U.S. territories or commonwealths), and graduating in winter 2022 or spring 2023. Applicants living on a U.S. Armed Forces base and attending high school outside the U.S. are eligible.

  • Plan to enroll in a full‑time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four‑year college or university in the United States for the entire 2023-2024 academic school year

February Deadlines

ENF Legacy Award


  • Any child, grandchild, step child, or legal ward of a living Elk who joined on or before April 1, 2022, or a charter member of a lodge instituted on or after April 1, 2020 is eligible to apply. The Elk must be a payed up member.

  • MUST be a high school senior.

  • MUST apply online ONLY.

  • DEADLINE IS February 6, 2023.

  • If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk memebers, the applicant MUST apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.

  • The standardized test requirement has been waived. SAT/ACT scores DO NOT need to be submitted.

  • Students may apply for more that one ENF scholarship, but may win only one. If two are won by one recipient, they will receive the award of higher value.

  • If selected as a recipient for a 2023 award, you will be required to perform THREE instances of service with an Elks Lodge during the four years of receiving the scholarship.

  • Question and/or concerns about applications can be directed to the ENF scholarship office at scholarship@elks.org.

  • Applicants will be sent confirmation when their application is received.

  • Winners will be announced in late April 2023.

Environmental Career Scholarship

$12,000 being offered by NYWEA


  • A qualifying high school senior

  • A New York State resident

  • Enrolled full-time in a B.S. or B.E. degree program with an environmental emphasis.

Nicholas J. Bartilucci Environmental Scholarship

$6,000 scholarship (paid out in one lump sum)

May Deadlines

Emergency Educational Grants


  • The Elk parent or steparent:

    • Must have been a member in good standing for at least one year at the time of his or her death.

    • OR: must have been a member in good standing for at least one year before he or she became totally disabled and MUST contiue to be in good standing when application is submitted.

    • All circumstances surrounding the death/disability of an Elk are subject to review of the National Elks Foundation. Outcome of the review may effect grant approval.

  • The applicant MUST:

    • Demonstrate financial need

    • attend an accredited US college or university as a full-time (12 semester hours) undergrad student.

    • Be unmarried and under the age of 24 during the academic year in which they apply.

    • NOTE: if a student is awarded an EEG, the funds will be disbursed directly to the school in the student's name and can only be used for expenses that the school considers cost of attendance. This includes tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board.

The Gunther& Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarship


  • The Gunther & Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarships are offered to Elks Scholars entering their first year of medical school. The scholarship was stablished through the generosity of the late Lee Weigel, widow of Gunther Weigel. The number of scholarships offered and the amouts vary from year to year.

  • Gunther was a longtime memberr of the Miami, Florida Elks Lodge No.948. He was passionate about the Foudation's Scholarship programs. Lee established the scholarship in Gunther's memory to help Elks scholars pursue a career in medicine.

  • If you are an Elks Scholar planning to attend an accredited US medical school to pursue a medical degree or Osteopathic Medicine degree, consider applying before beginning your first year of med school.

  • For the 2022 contest, twenty $20,000 scholarships will be offered to Elks Scholars entering their first year of med school in fall 2022. The application closes May 23, 2022.
