Live Streaming of athletic events: We completely understand that the community would love to watch our upcoming sporting events. Athletic Uniform Notice - Due to the abrupt and unexpected cancellation of our 2019-2020 season because of Covid-19 we were unable to collect many of the uniforms from our players. We would appreciate it if you could help us out and contact Mr. Witkiewicz at 518-594-3962 or by email rwitkiewicz@nacs1.org if you still have a uniform at your residence. We would be happy to make arrangements for their return. We appreciate your help!

The memo includes information regarding our most recent positive case and explains that all 5th grade students will be remote on Monday, February 22nd and must not attend school. Attention Winter Sports Student-Athletes and their parents/guardians. There is an important memo in the NEWS section with information about forms, a clearance opportunity, and a Google Meet. It is very important that you take a look at it.

Attention ALL Ski Club members: Titus Mountain has requested that you not use your ski club membership from February 13 - February 21. You may go on your own but you may not use your ski club discount.

Key Club members and Elementary students recently created more than 400 Valentine cards/pictures which were delivered to area Nursing Homes. Key Club wanted to spread a little cheer to residents who can not have visitors at this time and decided to send Valentines to Meadowbrook. The idea was shared with Elementary staff, hoping to get enough cards to send to other nursing homes. Faculty and students overwhelmingly responded and cards were dropped off at Meadowbrook (185 items), Clinton County Nursing Home (100), CVPH Skilled Nursing (70), and Vilas Home (50). Key Club created 125 cards and the Elementary students made 280! Special thanks to Ms. Latrell and her art students for a beautiful variety of cards and the Valentine box as well as to Ms. Vanier, Mrs. White, Mrs. Matthews, and Mrs. Spoor for their classroom contributions. Pictures are of two Key Clubbers and their creations, cards made by Key Club, and the many Valentines and box from Elementary students.

Winter sports update: Our board of education approved certain high risk sports. The Champlain Valley Athletic Council voted to set dates for their upcoming seasons. The Fall Season 2 will run from March 29th – May 8th. The Spring Season will run from April 26th – June 19th. “The CVAC met today and discussed the various options for our seasons,” stated CVAC Executive Secretary Greg Myers. He continued, “We ultimately agreed upon this model that gives us the opportunity for a robust Spring season, but also allows for the winter season and the Fall Season 2 student-athletes to have their seasons as well.” We will keep you posted as to what sports will start here at NAC and when they will start . The Champlain Valley Athletic Council voted earlier today to postpone the start of Wrestling. The decision came after consultation with the Clinton County Health Department and the five wrestling schools. “As difficult as this decision is, we feel that this is in the best interest of our schools,” said CVAC Executive Secretary Greg Myers. “Wrestling has not been cancelled for the 2020-21 school year, it will be reevaluated at a later date.”

Northern Adirondack will be closed Wednesday, February 3rd for a Snow Day. All deliveries planned for tomorrow will be postponed. Please Remain Safe.

Good evening NAC families. Governor Cuomo has added Clinton County to his State of Emergency list as a result of the expected snow storm that will impact us tomorrow. Therefore, Northern Adirondack will have a Traditional Snow Day tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2nd. I hope all of our students have an opportunity to take advantage of the snow by enjoying some safe fun outdoors.

One of Mrs. Whelden's 3rd & 4th grade reading groups has been reading "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls. After they read about building a 'coon trap, Mrs. Whelden built one in her living room during a Google Meet and challenged her students to do the same with household materials. These are some of their amazingly imaginative homemade traps! The description in the book is: -find a log -bore a hole about 6 inches down -bright shiny object cut in a circle to sit flat on bottom of bored hole -4 nails, drive in on a slant opposite each other, the nails will enter the hole about halfway down -leave an opening between the sharp ends of nails big enough for a coon to get his paw in

In an effort to distribute and pick up school work a second bus run had been scheduled for today, however there was little time to turn around the required packets. Therefore, please place your bins or baskets out for a delivery on Monday, January 25th.
