Post dated checks or checks with an incorrect amount will be returned to the taxpayer for correction. Only U.S. postmark determines the date of payment. Only U.S. funds accepted. Post-dated checks cannot be accepted.

On December 1, 2026 taxes are re-levied with the Town and County Tax and are payable on January 1, 2027 to the Town Tax Collector.
Installment Payments
The first installment is payable to the School Tax Collector and must be postmarked by September 30, 2026. Failure to meet this deadline disqualifies you from the installment payment system. The first installment includes a 2% surcharge on the total tax bill, which is a county revenue used to cover the administration costs of the installment system.
All subsequent installment payments must be mailed directly to the Clinton County Treasurer's Office. Please refer to your installment coupons for the correct address. If you mistakenly send an installment payment to the School Tax Collector, it will be returned to you and cannot be forwarded to the County.
Important Deadlines and Penalties
Mailed payments are posted according to the U.S. Postmark. If you are mailing a payment on the last day of the month, be sure it is postmarked that same day; otherwise, it will be considered late. Payments made after September 30, 2026, will incur penalties.

If you find any incorrect information on your tax bill, you must contact the Clinton County Treasurer's Office. Please note that schools are not responsible for printing or mailing out tax bills; the Clinton County Treasurer's Office is solely responsible for all information on your bill.
