NAC Elementary learned about many important jobs in the community during Career Week, May 12-16, 2025! Beginning with a visit from the WPTZ Mobile Weather Lab reporting from the school in the early morning of Friday, May 9, we continued with a full week of presenters and ended with 5th grade job shadowing in the community. Meteorologist Marissa Viegivinni returned to NAC to speak to the students about what it means to present the weather on TV on Tuesday. Rachel Dutil taught us about the many different professions involved in animal science at Miner Institute in Chazy. Rasheed Trombley and Logan Brody from Mountain Lake PBS talked to students all about what jobs it takes to make television programs for us to watch and the ways in which our local PBS station highlights the events important in our communities. Mr. Brad of Dinosaurs Rock gave us an exciting hands-on experience with paleontology and fossils. We learned about the many jobs in law enforcement with multiple presentations by officers of the NY State Police Troop B.
Thank you to all the community members who gave our students an idea of the many occupations that their education can help prepare them for and the contributions they will make to our society in the future.
