Dear NAC Parents/Guardians,

As you know, COVID-19 is still a risk in the community.  We are asking for your help to keep our school community as healthy and safe as possible.

Please help us by keeping your child home if they exhibit any of the symptoms listed below. This is a list of commonly seen symptoms of COVID-19 to check for.  These include (but are not limited to):

  • Fever or chills (100°F or greater)

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

If your child has any of these symptoms, he/she MUST stay home.  If your child does become sick, they will need a negative COVID (PCR) test and be symptom free to return to school.  At this time we are not permitted to accept rapid tests.

Please note, if your child has a medical condition such as seasonal allergies or migraines, please ask their healthcare provider to send us a letter stating an approved alternate diagnosis.  This will prevent your child from being sent home if they have symptoms consistent with these conditions.

Faxes received after 3:00pm or on weekends will not be processed until the next school day.

If your child enters school or develops any of the symptoms of COVID-19 while at school, you will be contacted by the school nurse to arrange for immediate pick-up of your child.  If you cannot get to school within 30 minutes, you must have another adult who can assist with this.

All students, faculty and staff are required to wear masks at all times while in school buildings and on school buses.

Please speak with your child about the importance of wearing a mask and ensure that they understand that it must fully cover their nose and mouth.  Bandanas and gaiters are not permitted.

Listed below are a few other reminders:

  • We are a peanut and tree nut free campus.  Homemade snacks may be brought in a lunchbox as long as they do not contain peanut butter, peanuts or nuts of any kind.

  • If a student is absent, parents must call by 9:00 a.m. to report the reason for the absence.  Otherwise, we must assume they are ill with a symptom and will not be permitted to ride the bus the next day. Necessary paperwork may need to be provided to the health office before they can start riding the bus again.

  • No medication can be transported by a student.

  • EpiPens/Inhalers may be self-carried with a note from your child’s healthcare provider.

  • If any injuries occur while your child is NOT at school and the injury could impact them while at school, please notify the health office.

  • Please make sure your voicemail is set up and we are able to leave a message.

Our goal is to keep students healthy and safe!  Please reach out with any questions.
