Dear NAC Community,

I am writing to inform you about a recent product recall involving cucumbers that were served in our schools on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

After receiving a recall notice from our supplier, we immediately disposed of all remaining cucumbers to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The recall is related to a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Montevideo, which may cause symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

While there have been no reported illnesses in our district at this time, we encourage all families to monitor their children for any symptoms of illness. If your child begins to show signs of gastrointestinal illness, please consult your healthcare provider promptly and inform the school nurse.

The health and safety of our students is our top priority, and we will continue to work closely with our food service provider to ensure all products served meet the highest safety standards.

Thank you for your attention and continued partnership.

Mr. Knight

Superintendent of Schools
