Dear NAC Families,

The Northern Adirondack Central School District was informed this weekend that two individuals from our school community have tested positive for COVID-19.

Here’s what we know:

  • The individuals are students who were last here on Thursday, February 4, 2021 and/or Friday, February 5, 2021.
  • The individuals were present in both the elementary and/or the middle school buildings.
  • Students and employees who rode Bus 77 on Thursday, 2/4 and/or Friday, 2/5 will be contacted by the Clinton County Health Department with further information regarding a quarantine order, but have already been notified by school personnel.
  • Students and staff who have been contacted by school personnel are not to attend school until the CCHD provides a release from quarantine.
  • The Northern Adirondack Central School District has provided the Clinton County Health Department with all pertinent information regarding students and staff who are designated to have been in close proximity contact to the infected individuals.  Only the Clinton County Health Department can conduct contact tracing - County Health will contact parents/families and staff.
  • Northern Adirondack will continue to offer in-person and hybrid instruction for those eligible grade levels and classrooms that have not been in contact with the infected individuals.
  • All 6th Grade classes will be remote for the week of February 8, 2021.  No 6th Grade students are to attend school during the week of February 8, 2021.
  • The elementary classrooms impacted will not be in attendance during the week of February 8, 2021.
  • Students may be picked up by busses that are different than their normal bus in an effort to remain socially distanced on buses and get all of our students to school on time.

Thank you for your cooperation,

James C. Knight, Jr.

Superintendent of Schools
