Dear NAC Families,

The Northern Adirondack Central School District was informed this evening that an individual from our school community has been identified as testing positive for COVID-19.

Here’s what we know:

  • The individual is a student who was last here on Tuesday, September 28, 2021
  • The individual was present in the Elementary School building
  • The student rode a bus, Bus #81
  • Students and employees who were in close contact will be contacted by school personnel, and as soon as the Clinton County Health Department issues a Quarantine order to the District we will distribute them on their behalf.
  • The Northern Adirondack Central School District has provided the Clinton County Health Department with all pertinent information regarding students and staff who are designated to have been in close proximity contact to the positive individual.  Only the Clinton County Health Department can conduct contact tracing – However we as the School District have been asked to deliver the Official Quarantine Paperwork via email starting with any new cases after, Friday, September 17, 2021.
  • Northern Adirondack will continue to offer in-person instruction for all of those students who are not under a quarantine or isolation order.
  • It is important to know that the Clinton County Health Department has updated the Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines for the 2021 – 2022 School Year, and there are different outcomes based on vaccination status.

Thank you for your cooperation,

James C. Knight, Jr.

Superintendent of Schools
