Dear NAC Families,

The Northern Adirondack Central School District was informed that two individuals from our school community have been identified as testing positive for COVID-19.

Here’s what we know:

  • The individuals are students who were last here on Monday, October 4, 2021.
  • The individuals were present in the MS/HS School building.
  • The students rode bus 85.
  • Students and employees who were in close contact will receive an official quarantine order on behalf of the Clinton County Health Department from a Northern Adirondack CSD staff member, but have already been or will be notified by school personnel
  • The Northern Adirondack Central School District has provided the Clinton County Health Department with all pertinent information regarding students and staff who are designated to have been in close proximity contact to the positive individual.  Only the Clinton County Health Department can conduct contact tracing - County Health will contact parents/families and staff under normal circumstances, however we as the School District have been asked to deliver the Official Quarantine Paperwork via email starting with any new cases after today, Friday, September 17, 2021.
  • Northern Adirondack will continue to offer in-person instruction for all of those students who are not under a quarantine or isolation order.
  • It is important to know that the Clinton County Health Department has updated the Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines for the 2021 – 2022 School Year, and there are different outcomes based on vaccination status.

Thank you for your cooperation,

James C. Knight, Jr.

Superintendent of Schools
