The Clinton County Health Department shared some new information today regarding the lengths of isolation and quarantine orders.  This is in conjunction with the newly released NYSDOH guidance that can be found here; https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2022/01/nys_updated_isolation_quarantine_guidance_01042022.pdf

The main change is that any positive student, faculty member, or staff member will now only need to isolate for 5 days if their symptoms are improving or they are asymptomatic.  People who have been exposed to a positive case and are subject to quarantine will also only need to do so for 5 days if they are symptom free.  This change takes affect with all cases identified starting today, January 5, 2022.  The Superintendents in Clinton County asked about shortening isolation and quarantine dates for students, faculty members, and staff members who were identified prior to today (January 5, 2022) and were told by the Clinton County Health Department that the guidance did not support that change.  The Clinton County Health Department did indicate that they would be working on this possible adjustment and would let us know if anything changes.  If the guidance changes for those isolated or quarantined prior to today, we will share that information as soon as we learn about the change.  Changes continue to happen at a rapid pace, and we will continue to share any new and relevant information as it becomes available.  We recognize that part of these changes may be frustrating if you or a family member were identified prior to today (January 5, 2022) but please keep in mind that this is a positive step in the management of this pandemic.

To conclude this message, we would like to share again that there will be a vaccination clinic here in our elementary building on Saturday, January 8, 2022 and the sign up information may be found in a memo in the News section of our website.
