New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has provided free at-home antigen tests for K-12 students. If your child tests positive on this "antigen" test, Clinton County Health Department (CCHD) requires a "PCR test" to confirm results. Ms. Mandy Snay from the Clinton County Health Department (CCHD) has indicated that CCHD protocols in place require that if a student tests positive on their antigen COVID home test, families should isolate (to the safest and most reasonable extent possible) that child and seek PCR testing from their doctor or other testing sites. Ms. Snay has indicated that parents keep their children isolated until test results are received. CCHD will contact the parents to complete the COVID case/contact tracing investigation if their child's PCR COVID test is positive.

In order to assist with the Clinton County Health Department (CCHD) requirement, Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES) has received authorization to provide a "drive-up COVID testing site" for all students and school staff who attend and work in our K-12 Clinton County Schools including CVES, and who test positive on an antigen COVID test. These students and staff may receive a PCR Test at the "drive-up" CVES testing clinic without needing a doctor's appointment. This option is provided as part of the ELC Grant received by the Clinton County Health Department (CCHD) to support COVID testing in all Clinton County schools. The COVID testing service is being administered by Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES), whom the County has contracted to provide this testing service.
