Northern Adirondack Central School District has received a violation notice in regards to our water supply as a result of a missed sample monitoring deadline for NITRATE.  NAC is required to monitor our drinking water for NITRATE on a regular basis.  Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards.  The water is tested regularly for many things, however during 2023 we did not complete all monitoring for NITRATE and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.  NAC has never had an issue with NITRATE in the past as a result of our extensive water treatment facility and regular monitoring.  The test has been recently performed for the NITRATE monitoring, and we should have our results within a week.
