NAC Families,

Northern Adirondack Central School District will resume with the in-person and hybrid models of education that we have been utilizing since the start of the school year on Monday, February 1, 2021.

The decision to resume the in-person and hybrid models have been supported by the Clinton County Health Department.  NAC has been and will continue to be in close communication with them through regularly scheduled weekly meetings and daily updates.  In conjunction with CVES/CV-Tech and the other component school districts in Clinton County, we will continue to monitor COVID-19 case updates and infection rates while supporting the regional Vaccination process.

Now that the expected and proven post-holiday surges have leveled off some after reaching their peak, albeit the daily numbers and multiple day averages are much higher than they were prior to Thanksgiving, our goal is to maintain the open status that we achieved from September through most of November.  The decision to remain on a scheduled pause was highly debated and often criticized, however we are confident that it was a positive decision that prevented emergency closures of classrooms, grade levels, buildings, or even the entire district while allowing for families to prepare a plan for the remote learning days.  As we move forward, it is important to be ready to plan on the spur of the moment for a potential emergency closure that may impact your students.

Sadly, the COVID-19 virus still surrounds us, and we need to maintain our diligence in fighting this pandemic by practicing social distancing, washing and sanitizing our hands regularly, and wearing masks.  It is also necessary for all instances of exposure to be reported to the school district, so that the necessary measures can be taken to ensure the health and safety of all of our students and staff.  Thank you for your continued support and camaraderie in fighting this pandemic.

                                                                                                                        Sincerely,
