Good evening NAC families! This coming Thursday, March 28th we will conducting our Emergency Go Home and Reunification Drill. The campus will be closed for vehicle traffic as well as phone communication to offices at 9 AM. The drill will begin at approximately 9:30 AM. All students will be brought to our reunification site, which is the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall located at 47 Woods Falls Road in Altona. We ask that you give us time to practice our procedures, as we will be joined by a large contingent of law enforcement from various agencies. We ask that all those who plan to pick up their children use the parking lot on the Woods Falls Road adjacent to the White and Blue Rooms. The entrance to the Rainbow from the Irona Road will be closed for School and Law Enforcement vehicles access only. The process for students being picked up will begin after our buses have left the reunification site at approximately 11 AM, and will be organized in the White Room using the doors from the Woods Falls Parking Lot. Please bring a picture ID when picking up a student, so we can verify who you are. If you have any questions, please contact the main office in the building that your student attends. For students who regularly drive to school, a bus will be designated to bring you back to the campus once the drill is completed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Unfortunately due to the weather and road conditions, the Drama Club performance of Charlotte's Web has been cancelled for tonight, Saturday, March 23rd. Please join us for tomorrow afternoon's show at 1pm.

During the month of March, NAC Elementary students have participated in the thrilling 4th annual Bobcat March Madness Tournament of Books! This year's theme is World Cup soccer and the competition between books is intense! As we enter the final round of competition, we are down to the last two challengers: "Strega Nona" and "A Werewolf Named Oliver James." The final, championship round will be held on Monday, March 25. Ask the elementary student in your life which book they will be voting for and encourage them to dress up in the color or costume that supports their book champion on Monday.
May the best book win!

Good afternoon, a note will be going home with your (Route 12) students. It explains the changes being made as well as a projected new pickup time, that will begin on Monday. Please feel to reach out with any questions.

It's Builders Club Week! We are collecting items to make care packages for the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh. Please drop items off in the bin in the main lobby of the MS/HS by March 27th.

DeAnn Gregory, advisor to our NAC Key Club and co-advisor of Builder's Club, was recently honored at the annual state Key Club Leadership and Training Conference with the Distinguished Faculty Advisor Award for the New York District Key Club, beating out major areas like Long Island and Albany! We know she works hard to help our students with their community service goals, but it's nice to have a state-wide awards committee say so too.
First presented in 1962, this award was established to recognize an adult who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in serving the youth of the New York District, and is presented to a faculty advisor who has rendered the most outstanding contribution to a Key Club this year. Key Club International, a service leadership program of Kiwanis International, is the oldest and largest service organization for high school students and gives its members opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership skills.
Congratulations, DeAnn!

Good afternoon, this afternoon Routes 5 and 8 will be on a combo run. Please allow a slight delay in drop off.

Sweet, sweet, second grade science! The NAC Elementary STEM program was the happy recipient this year of the Agricultural Literacy Grant provided by New York Agriculture in the Classroom. This grant allowed us to purchase equipment and books to support our second graders as they learn the math and science involved in maple sugaring, as well as investigate the history and importance of maple sugaring in our community. A huge thank you to Darrell Reyell for sharing his expertise again this year.
