Happy Valentine's Day! This is Key Club and Builders Club's 5th year making Valentines for senior citizens. Key Club and Builders Club were joined by K-Kids, M/HS art students, ES art students, and students in grades PreK-2 in making Valentines for senior citizens residing in local senior housings and nursing homes. 635 items were collected and sent to 13 locations in our area!

Good afternoon NAC Families! Northern Adirondack is cancelling all afterschool activities today, Tuesday, February 10th, due to the expected weather this afternoon and evening..

Key Club recently volunteered at the North Country Mission of Hope sorting donated clothes, medical equipment, and a variety of other items. These will be sent to those in our community as well as those living in the Kentucky Appalachian Mountains. After volunteering, we stopped by the mall for lunch.

NAC High School recently welcomed Mr. Pat Fish from Sweethearts & Heroes, a youth empowerment organization that provides anti-bullying, social-emotional learning, and leadership training in schools.

A group of NAC students is participating in a leadership training program over the next few months where they are learning how to run and lead community-building discussions. In the coming weeks, these student leaders will visit NAC Middle School classrooms to mentor younger students and inspire them to take action against bullying and step up as leaders in their community.

“Being part of this program has really changed how I see our school and the people in it. It’s been amazing to learn from Sweethearts & Heroes and to see how much positivity something like this can create. I’m really proud to be part of it and excited to see how it continues to make a difference in our NAC community,” said Sadie Peyea, senior.

Brayden Bushey, senior, shared a similar experience, saying, “What stood out to me about Sweethearts & Heroes was how engaging it was. It gave us a chance to grow and share in ways we don’t always get in our school.”

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Goss Chevrolet and General Manager Josh Parker for sponsoring and supporting this program and helping make this meaningful opportunity possible for our students. We are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have across our school community.

Walking is permitted in the Middle High School hallways

Open during the same hours as the weight room

All participants must sign in and out using the log sheet in the weight room

K-Kids, Builders Club, and Key Club would like to thank everyone who brought in items for the food drive or made monetary donations. We did it! We beat last year's record and collected 417 pounds of food and $366.50 in monetary donations. This will be shared equally with the food banks in our school district (Altona, Churubusco, Dannemora, and Ellenburg) as well as the NACS Backpack Program. Thank you all so very much!

NAC Elementary students and staff celebrated the holiday season all week, combining fun and learning! We finished off the week belting out holiday tunes at our annual Santa and Bobby Bobcat Sing-a-long! Thank you for the privilege of educating and caring for your children. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

That's a wrap! Another successful year for Little Shoppers at NAC Elementary. Key Club would like to thank everyone who donated items or volunteered their time to make Little Shoppers happen the past few years and hope you all have enjoyed the presents your littles have brought home for you. We love hearing who will receive the students' gifts and stories of gifts given out before Christmas because they just couldn't wait!

Today is the 67th day of school at NAC! If you can't beat 'em.... join 'em!

Don't forget to drop off your non-perishable food items for the school wide food drive now through Wednesday, December 17th. All items collected will be distributed to the food shelves in our district - Altona, Churubusco, Dannemora, and Ellenburg - as well as to the NACS Backpack Program.
