Happy Valentine's Day! This is Key Club and Builders Club's 5th year making Valentines for senior citizens. Key Club and Builders Club were joined by K-Kids, M/HS art students, ES art students, and students in grades PreK-2 in making Valentines for senior citizens residing in local senior housings and nursing homes. 635 items were collected and sent to 13 locations in our area!

Dear NAC Elementary Families,
During the month of February, we will be learning about Habit #5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood. This habit is about listening before you speak. Here are the main points that you can discuss with your child:
● I listen to others without interrupting.
● I raise my hand and wait to be called on instead of blurting out.
● I try to understand how other people are feeling.

Dear NAC Families,
During the month of January, we will be learning about Habit #4: Think
Win-Win. This habit is about how a solution can be beneficial to everyone. Here are
the main points that you can discuss with your child:
● When issues come up with a friend, I can problem solve to find a solution
that benefits both of us.
● I consider what other people want instead of just thinking about what I
want.
● I am kind to others and try to think of ways to help everyone be happy.

Hello NAC Elementary Parent/Guardians:
This month, the Title Team is excited to share insights about handwriting. Handwriting encompasses more than just neat writing; it involves an efficient pencil grip and correct letter formation. When children hold their pencils correctly and understand proper letter formation, they can swiftly jot down their thoughts. This enables them to concentrate on their ideas rather than the mechanics of writing each letter. Our flyer includes links to the NAC-specific letter formation guide, examples of efficient and inefficient pencil grips, and additional handwriting tips.

K-Kids, Builders Club, and Key Club would like to thank everyone who brought in items for the food drive or made monetary donations. We did it! We beat last year's record and collected 417 pounds of food and $366.50 in monetary donations. This will be shared equally with the food banks in our school district (Altona, Churubusco, Dannemora, and Ellenburg) as well as the NACS Backpack Program. Thank you all so very much!
NAC Elementary students and staff celebrated the holiday season all week, combining fun and learning! We finished off the week belting out holiday tunes at our annual Santa and Bobby Bobcat Sing-a-long! Thank you for the privilege of educating and caring for your children. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
That's a wrap! Another successful year for Little Shoppers at NAC Elementary. Key Club would like to thank everyone who donated items or volunteered their time to make Little Shoppers happen the past few years and hope you all have enjoyed the presents your littles have brought home for you. We love hearing who will receive the students' gifts and stories of gifts given out before Christmas because they just couldn't wait!

Today is the 67th day of school at NAC! If you can't beat 'em.... join 'em!
NAC Kindergarten students and families created some amazing gingerbread houses... and memories! It's wonderful to see big brothers and sisters helping little siblings, grandparents spreading on the frosting, and parents appreciating the skills their children are developing in Kindgergarten. We're proud of all of you for your creativity and teamwork.

NAC extends a warm thank you to a community member for their donation of beautiful hand made hats and mittens for our students.

Dear NAC Elementary Parent/Guardians:
This month the Title Team would like to introduce healthy reading habits to your family. By making reading a regular, enjoyable part of your routine, creating a cozy reading space, and modeling good habits of reading yourself, your family will develop the love of reading. December is a great time to share favorite holiday stories and create these routines together.
