WANT TO BECOME A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER? Available BOE Seat open seat for the 2023-24 school year. The term is for five years; this seat that is available is currently held by Steven Bartlemus whos term will expiring. Candidates who’d like to seek a position must be: a U.S. citizen; at least 18 years old; and a resident of the district for at least one year before the election. Also, board members may not reside with a family member who is presently on the School Board, and they can’t be an employee of the school. Those who would like to be considered as candidates for this term must submit a petition to District Clerk, Brittany LaBombard by the end of business on April 17, 2023 either by email to brlabombard@nacs1.org or by fax to 518-594-7255. Copy of the petition can be found on the school website www. nacs1.org under the Board of Education tab or can be picked up in the District Office.

Good morning again NAC families and staff. Northern Adirondack will be closed today, Friday, February 17th due to the icy road conditions. We have received reports that the road crews are out, but they do not feel like they are making headway and the roads are continuing to freeze up. Out of safety for everyone, we are closed today. Good morning NAC families and staff. This afternoon bus 78 and bus 2 will combine allow a slight delay in drop off of your students. Also Bus 85 will be delayed approximately 45 minutes. They will go out as the first available bus comes back. If you're able to pick up your students, it would be helpful and appreciated. Students at NAC Elementary celebrated two holidays today: the 100th Day of School AND Valentine's Day! Talk with your child about all the people they love and see how many things you can find around the house to count to 100!

NAC Key Club, Builders Club, and Elementary students recently made over 400 Valentine's Day cards and pictures for local senior citizens. Residents at senior housing complexes in Altona, Churubusco, and Ellenburg as well as those at Meadowbrook Healthcare, CVPH's Skilled Nursing Floor, Clinton County Nursing Home, and St. Vilas Assisted Living will each receive a card or picture. We hope these brighten their day!

NAC students in K-Kids, Key Club and Builders Club are conducting a Coin Collection next week for Courageous Cali, a 2 year old from the Dannemora area who was bitten by a tick, which caused encephalitis and many health complications. Coin collection boxes are available in both buildings through February 17. Please give generously by sending in your coins with an NAC student! Hey Bobcats, due to the predicted frigid temperatures ski club will be canceled Friday February 3rd. Titus Mountain is suspending their operations on Friday also. Ski Club will resume on Friday February 10th, Friday February 17th and March 3rd. Stay warm!
